Accessibility
Ford Colter aims to meet WCAG 2.2 AA. Here is what we have built in, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
What we do
- Every page works with a keyboard alone. A skip link jumps to the content, and focus is always visible.
- Ask in context works with keyboard selection (Shift and the arrow keys) and with buttons on every named person, place and term. The answer panel is a labelled dialog and its answer is announced to screen readers.
- Every chart has a written summary, and the numbers are available as a table to assistive technology.
- Colour is never the only signal: statuses carry words, and the monitored lane uses a hatched pattern as well as colour.
- Animations respect your reduced-motion setting. Dark mode follows your system, or can be chosen with the theme button.
- Text can be enlarged to 200 percent without loss of content, and the layout adapts down to small phones.
Known issues
The illustrated hero images are decorative and described briefly; they carry no information that is not in the text. Horizontally scrolling timelines can also be read as a list in the study view.
